Mapping Our Way Forward

Now that we are a little past halfway through 2015, we felt that it would probably be a good time to step back and take stock of where we are and pass on some of our plans for the rest of the year.

Starting a new business can always be a stressful exercise, especially if you are walking into a crowded space. I have already spoken about some of the things we learned just by releasing our initial free plugins, and the months since launching our first premium plugin has brought with them a whole raft of new lessons. All of which we’ve taken to heart.

So far we’ve doing well – sales of HeroMenu are steady and as a matter of fact we are ahead of where our initial projections said we would be. So we have some momentum going – our task now is to make use of it.

One of the first things we’re doing is growing our team – we have already appointed our first new addition to the team, and he started with us in June. His first task is quite a big one – he’s going to be working on a complete overhaul of the documentation and support sections of the HeroPlugins website, since we often get support queries that should be readily answered by our own documentation.

We quickly realised that there’s no real point in limiting ourselves to plugins only. We have access to a wealth of knowledge and skills which enable us to aim for a much broader market, which is why you’ll very likely see other items being added to our portfolio before the year is out.

As an example: while there has been word of declining theme sales, there is still a market for well-coded WordPress themes, so there’s a very good chance you’ll see the first HeroPlugins WordPress theme added to ThemeForest before the end of the year. But we’re not going to stop there. While WordPress is very popular, not everyone uses the platform for their websites, but may want to have access to those themes. For this reason we are also planning to adapt our future WordPress themes into HTML templates which we will be making available on the marketplace.

In the immediate future however, you should see our premium Slider and Maps plugins hit the market – if you want a bit of a teaser feel free to download Hero Maps Pro (completely free) – both of these are currently in development. While we don’t have a definite release date yet, you might want to keep your eyes peeled in August and make sure you don’t miss anything happening that month.

Exciting things are coming up at HeroPlugins – we hope to see you along for the journey.
